Private Pilot Airplane practice question 2

With respect to the certification of airmen, which are categories of aircraft?

Show answer

Correct answer: B. Airplane, rotorcraft, glider, lighter-than-air.

For airman certification, "category" means a broad classification of aircraft: airplane, rotorcraft, glider and lighter-than-air (powered-lift, powered parachute and weight-shift-control are also categories). Gyroplane and helicopter are classes within rotorcraft; single- and multiengine land/sea are classes within airplane.
