Unexplained power loss; suspected induction filter icing in visible moisture near freezing temperatures

NOTEThe IO-540 is fuel-injected and has no carburetor — carburetor ice is not a hazard. However, the induction air filter can ice over in visible moisture near freezing temperatures, causing unexplained power loss. The alternate air control bypasses the filtered intake and draws warm unfiltered air from inside the cowling.
