Light Signals
NOTESTEADY GREEN: In Flight β Authorised to land if pilot satisfied no collision risk exists. On Aerodrome β Authorised to take-off if pilot satisfied no collision risk exists.
NOTESTEADY RED: In Flight β Give way to other aircraft and continue circling. On Aerodrome β Stop.
NOTEGREEN FLASHES: In Flight β Return, wait for permission to land. On Aerodrome β Authorised to taxi IF pilot satisfied no risk exists.
NOTERED FLASHES: In Flight β Do not land, Aerodrome not available for landing. On Aerodrome β Taxi clear of landing area in use.
NOTEWHITE FLASHES: In Flight β Land at this aerodrome, after receiving continuous green light. On Aerodrome β Return to starting point on aerodrome.
Quadrantal Rule
NOTEUncontrolled Airspace: Transition Level FL245 β Magnetic Track. Controlled Airspace: Magnetic Track. See source diagram.

S-Tec System 50 Pre-Flight Procedures before_start
NOTENOTE: There must be adequate aircraft DC voltage, (14 or 28VDC), to perform these checks. Low voltage may adversely affect the Functional Pre-flight Procedures.
CAUTIONCAUTION: Control Wheel movements should be smooth. If any unusual noise or restriction occurs, have the system inspected for proper installation and proper clutch setting, immediately. Do not operate the Autopilot under these conditions.
Radio Check
NOTENOTE: In REV Mode, observe that the control wheel moves opposite of the NAV needle and with more authority than in the NAV Mode. In APR Mode, observe that the control wheel follows the radio needle movement and with more authority than in the NAV Mode.
Microflo Test and Pre-Flight Procedures preflight_inspection
NOTENOTE: Using the test function while the engine is running will cause the computer to lose 17 seconds of fuel count. MICROFLO-L is a fuel flow measuring system and NOT a quantity-sensing device. A visual inspection and positive determination of the usable fuel in the fuel tanks is a necessity. Therefore, it is imperative that the determined available usable fuel be manually entered into the system.
PREFLIGHT & DIAGNOSTIC CHECK
NOTEa. Display filled with inverse checkerboard.
NOTEb. Display flashes 3 times.
NOTEc. On failing test βBADβ displayed with error code. In such case unit is U/S.
NOTEd. On passing test βGOODβ displayed for 3 seconds.
NOTEe. K-factor setting (Pulses Per Gallon) and units of measure (gallons, litres, pounds or kilograms) displayed.
NOTEf. LT ( ): Loran or GPS Type (No signal βLOFβ displayed).
NOTEg. Distance to waypoint GPS to check data interface integrity. (No signal βLBDβ displayed).
NOTEh. Maximum usable fuel setting.
NOTEi. Software version.
NOTEa. Displays fuel used since last fuel entry/last reset.
NOTEa. Displays fuel remaining. Pilot should CONFIRM with actual on board.
NOTEb. No action needed in updating fuel as info on previous fuel levels stored, even when power down.
NOTEc. Move ADD/FULL switch to FULL and hold.
NOTEd. Press ENTER/TEST button.
NOTEe. Release ADD/FULL it returns to the centre position.
NOTEf. To verify, move USED/REM switch to REM. Total usable fuel will be displayed.
NOTEg. Move ADD/FULL to ADD and hold.
NOTEh. Move USED/REM to REM to increment fuel added figure until amount of fuel added is reached.
NOTEi. Press ENTER/TEST button.
NOTEj. Release ADD/FULL it returns to the centre position. The computer will add the added fuel remaining and use the total as the current fuel remaining.
NOTEk. To verify, move USED/REM to REM. Total usable fuel will be displayed.
CORRECTING FUEL ON BOARD ENTRY ERROR
NOTEThis is used when an error has been made by exceeding the correct amount when entering the total usable fuel.
NOTEl. Move USED/REM to USED simultaneously press and hold ENTER/TEST.
NOTEi. The fuel remaining figure will appear and pause in the display window for four (4) seconds. The figure will decrement (the longer you press, the faster it decrements).
NOTEm. Hold USED/REM in the USED position and use ENTER/TEST to control the decrementing.
NOTEn. When the correct figure is reached, release both USED/REM and ENTER/TEST.
NOTENote: Adding or subtracting fuel by any method resets the fuel used value to zero.
