Filler cap retaining chain securely attached at both ends. [ ] Check for fuel / oil leaks, frayed / broken wires, chafed lines, cracked exhaust stacks and broken or loose heater ducts [ ] Check fuel filter drain valve safety wired in closed position. [ ] Check red plunger flush with top of fuel filter assembly. [ ] Prop governor cable not chafing on fuel filter bracket. [ ] Check alternate air door closed and linkage secure. [ ] Grounding wire for security and touching the deck. [ ] Nose tire for condition and proper inflation. PROPELLER & NOSE SECTION [ ] Cowl plugs removed. [ ] Propeller for cracks, nicks, pits, and evidence of oil leakage. Inspect security of spinner retention nut. [ ] Air intake, filter, hot air overboard inlets clean, unobstructed. Ensure lock fasteners firmly secured. [ ] Check condition of taxi (passing) light. RIGHT ENGINE & BATTERY COMPARTMENTS [ ] Open right engine cowling. [ ] Check for fuel / oil leaks, frayed / broken wires, chafed lines, cracked exhaust stacks and broken or loose heater ducts. [ ] Generator capacitor securely clamped, clear of cowling arm. [ ] Check right augmentor tube for obstructions. [ ] Close cowling and secure latches. [ ] Security of external canopy release handle. [ ] Open battery compartment door. [ ] Check connector and holding bar security. [ ] Check for evidence of electrolyte leakage, warps and bulges. [ ] Check drain hoses connected to case. [ ] Close battery compartment door and secure latches. [ ] Open battery drain jar compartment. [ ] Check for evidence of electrolyte overflow and contamination. [ ] Close battery drain jar compartment door and secure latch. RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR [ ] Perform same checks as for left main landing gear. RIGHT WING [ ] Perform same checks as on left wing except for pitot tube and stall warning vane. Check stall strip for security. [ ] All visible control linkages and hinge fittings for cracks and security; rudder trim tab for anti-servo action. [ ] VHF antenna and retaining nut for corrosion and security. [ ] Navigation light and tail cone for security and cracks. [ ] Static discharge wicks for fraying, deterioration and proper attachment. (min length 6", 1" exposed wick).
